At TopOne, we focus on delivering hair colour results that enhance your natural skin tone and complement your individual style. Our process begins with a professional consultation to evaluate your hair health and discuss your desired shade and style goals.
Our stylists specialise in a range of techniques, from balayage and full and half head-highlights to lowlights, babylights, ombre and more. We use only high-quality products designed to maintain the integrity of your hair while achieving consistent, even tones. Our experienced team will also consider your hair’s porosity and previous colour history to ensure long-lasting and vibrant results.

Balayage
Balayage is a freehand highlighting technique derived from the French word for “to sweep”, where the hair colour is essentially painted on. This method avoids the uniform look of traditional foils, focusing instead on a natural transition from darker roots to lighter ends. It is a versatile choice if you are looking for a low-maintenance look that retains a seamless blend as it grows out.
Highlights
Highlights involve isolating specific sections of hair and applying colour from the root to the tip. We use foils to separate these strands, which allows for a clean and precise lift throughout the hair. You can select a full head for maximum brightness or a half head to focus on the top layers and face-framing sections. The result is a consistent, multi-tonal dimension to your overall hair colour.
Babylights
Babylights are ultra-fine highlights designed to create a subtle shift in tone. We take very small sections of hair and place them in foils for an extremely fine and seamless blend so that colour is distributed evenly and blends well with your base colour. The fine nature of the sections ensures that the regrowth remains discreet as your hair grows.
Ombré
This colour technique provides a gradient effect. To achieve this look, we typically use balayage to place lighter horizontally across the bottom half of the hair before blending it upwards. This creates a more noticeable transition than standard highlights but maintains a blended mid-section to avoid an extreme contrast. The final look is a bold, two-toned look that requires minimal maintenance at the scalp. Our expert team will help you select shades that complement your base colour to ensure the contrast remains cohesive.
Sombré
Sombré, or “soft ombré,” offers a more muted and gradual transition than the ombré effect. We use lower-contrast shades and start the lightening process higher up the hair shaft to achieve a more diffused, blended result. This technique adds depth and movement to the hair while maintaining a sophisticated, natural-looking finish.
Root Touch-ups
We also offer root touch-ups, that target the new hair growth at the scalp. We apply a custom-blended tint to match your mid-lengths and ends, for total coverage and a uniform result. Root touch-ups work great for permanent hair colours or for covering grey hair between appointments.

Hair Bleaching
Hair bleaching, or pre-lightening, is the process of stripping the natural pigment from the hair to reach a lighter base. It is generally necessary to achieve platinum blonde, pastel tones, or vivid shades such as bright purples or reds. Our stylists monitor the lifting process closely so that the hair reaches the required level of lightness while maintaining its structural integrity to prepare the hair for the next step in the colour process.
